FlightsStats has recently announced their lists of airlines and airports that are finalists and winners in the third annual FlightStats On-Time Performance Service Awards. The OPS Awards recognizes airlines and airports around the world that achieve sustained operational excellence. Airlines are recognized for delivering the highest percentage of flights to their arrivals gates within 15 minutes of scheduled arrival time. While airports are recognized for delivering the highest percentage of departures from the gate less than 15 minutes after published scheduled departure.
For the second consecutive year Alaska Airlines has taken the title of Best On-Time Performance Service of the Major North American Airlines. Alaska Airlines achieved a 2011 on-time percentage of 87.79 percent. That's better than the average on-time performance of 76.40 percent for the category.

According to FlightStats, Salt Lake City International Airport achieved the 2011 on-time performance record in the category of Major North American Airports coming in with a percentage of 86.55, when the average on-time performance was 76.67 percent in the category. Portland International Airport was a close second, with 86.38% on-time departures
